It should beep a couple of times to say it’s armed, yet this doesn’t stop. Scorpion Automotive who manufacture the alarm suggest it could be a faulty door sensor.

The second button, the smaller one, normally is used to set the alarm but disables the internal sensors - so you can set it at night to protect the doors without setting it off.
